SLim 10" subs in my doors

Are there any foreseeable problems with this? I'll be putting some 6.5" comps in the kickpanels and want upfront bass. I may have to go with 8" in doors but I really want this to work. Anyone attempt this yet?
These will be my subs....in a 00' Grand Am

I've got Peerless SLS 8s going in the doors. You need to build some serious door pods and deaden the hell out of the door skins (sheetmetal) and the interior door panel. You won't know if you've done enough until you fire it up. What is the interior volume of your doors? Is is sufficient for the drivers you are considering?

I really have no idea about the volume. This is from their site:

Sealed ( small ) 0.3cF

Sealed ( ideal ) 0.5cF

Sealed ( large ) 0.6cF

Vented ( ideal ) 1.0cF Tuned to 30Hz

Vented ( DDLoud) 1.0cF Tuned to 35Hz

The door would be more of an IB setup, correct? The back side wouldn't be sealed because it's not airtight. Let me know what you think... appreciate the advice.

Im doing the same and the main advice i was getting was to bascially SEAL and DEADEN THE DOORS....this will improve bass response and decrease resonance caused by the low frequencies. You have to be very dedicated to the project to put the time, effort, and money for supplies to do it right sucessfully. Good luck and keep us posted with progress if you decide that this is the way you want to go //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ADDED...i think if you want to do IB you would have to somehow vent the driver to the outside of the car or you can do an aperiodic enclosure

What is the Vas of the sub? Most infinite baffles you hear about in cars really just mean that the enclosure is big enough to not apply resistance to cone movement the way a sealed or ported box would. Think about a infinite baffle in a trunk, it is really just a big sealed box, but it is big enough that the force required to compress the proportionally smaller volume of air that the cone displaces is negligible.

So, back to your doors. Like azngotskills said, you are basically going to be doing one of three things. Sealing the doors, venting the doors to the outside, or making some sort of aperiodic vent. The issue here if you seal them is the volume of the door relative to the Vas. I'd start measuring the doors and calculating some rectangular volumes in the spaces you can. It doesn't have to be perfect, just enough to get an idea.

My 06 Saleen Mustang has 8's in the door...They have a built in 1/2 cu. ft enclousure...I haven't tore into the doors yet...but I have bought a set of Pioneer shallow mount 8's for them...I'm gonna pull the speakers above the 8's ou and run a port to that section tuned at 80hz...I have a set of Image Dynamics mini horns with the passive XO's that I'm gonna run under the dash....
