Sleep Apnea

Think of it this way. How would you like to stop breathing and get "woken" up 46 times within 7 hours of sleep (that was my results). That is why you get heart attacks (just like fire fighters have a higher rate of heart attacks).
Wow, I was 27 times a minute and my oxygen level would drop to 46%.

Wow thats nuts, so how long did it take you guys to get used to sleeping with that thing on?
Honestly, it's still uncomfortable. However, things had gotten so bad I put it on the first day I received it and have never gone a night without it. That was May of '06.

Seriously, it's like I got a new life.

Cool, they keep trying to get my pops to get a sleep study but he thinks 'it's just the latest thing the doctors are trying to 'sell' you on' I may try and get him to go in.
My step-mom says he does gasp for air sometimes at night so it almost sounds like sleep apnea, he is not a huge guy but probably about 60-70 lbs overweight.
Most definitely. The test has been in use for 30 years with the exception of more accurate results due to tech advances.

It's more than just snoring, it can lead to heart disease, stroke, diabetes, high co2 levels, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Not to mention the dangers of everyday activity with improper sleep.

My dad has it along with CPOD, he just had a triple bypass and refuses to use the c-pap. It's going to kill him before the end of the decade. Sometimes it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I remember you telling me a story about how the power went out once so you had to wire up your bank of G31 optimas and a power inverter in your house to run your machine. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

My mom has sleep apnea and uses that machine. It made a huge difference for her. She wasn't tired all the time the next day, going to bed at 8:00PM in the evenings, and sleeping whenever she got the chance.

Dang delvryboy you have it bad that explains why you fall asleep everywhere. I was used to it the first night because I was sick of feeling that way. delvryboy is right it can lead to all the problems that he listed.
