Skip01: Operation DeGAY.....Civic coupe

I may have missed it but...Wheres the B16 Love or a B17 or B18 LS/Vtech. I see no B series love in this thread lol. It seems to me people are forgetting about the OBD1 and OBD2 changes thaty happend in Honda/Acuras alot, that could change what swaps you would want.

BTW I have a book of Integra and Civic swaps. If you would like one of the walkthroughs PM with the year and motor swap you want. I can scan it and send you it.

I already bought this:

http://www.hybrid-racing.com/store/index.php/accessories/k-series-install-dvd.html

....im not sure if im gonna attempt the swap myself, i mean i could...but i just dont know

I havent watched the vid yet, but these guys are local too me.....they've actually been one of the pioneers for K-swaps, they made the first harness to do it in a EG i believe.

It doesnt look like the price of B series are dropping that much , guess K's are still kinda "the new thing"

a b series swap is just as easy as changing a motor it drops right in you dont even need new mounts just use integra axles and a hasport swap linkage and you will be fine ive done 5 or 6 b series eg's

You need B series mounts, D series wont work, but that should come on the engine when you buy it.

With axles and B series linkage

You guys have never swapped a honda motor yourself have you? Its not as easy as simply grabbing a set of mounts, axles and a shift linkage.

Ive done about 15 motor swaps on ef/eg/dc

They all sucked, one that sucked the most, putting a b20/vtec in my buds ek, took us over a month since he had ot keep orderring parts, got it running, 20 miles later..... it spins a rod bearing lol, he was PISSED, but he built the motor himself and aparently doesnt know how to use plastigauge

I stick to stock motors, rebuilt with forged internals. Shit drops right in no problems. D16a6 @ 18psi from a .60/.63 is what Im runnin now in the Crx

As long as you have all new parts and frame isn't dented at all it is just as easy as it sounds.

I'd bet that car was in a wreck , makin things a mess for fitment.

Speaking of civics and swaps, my dad and I went to deny's and overheard the waiter talking to some guy about his civic and his friends bought so many with b series that all died right away when he got them home. Under my breath I said my integra had a B series and it ran fine to my dad and the mechanic guy started laughing. The waiter went from saying he had 1k saved for a new civic to saying he was looking at second gen supra's and was going to go buy one. Made me LOL. Anyways reminded me of this thread //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

BTW upon leaving we saw his civic.. Old EK hatch with no trim inside, mismatching paint, and the autozone three pack gauge sets that look cheesy as hell. My dad and I busted up laughing. LOL's were had.

his civic probably runs faster than your teg. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

nothing can be known till you see what's truly under the hood.

Sold the teg awhile ago so it doesnt matter.

My buddy has an 88 Civic with a b18 that could smoke my car. His car is rusty as hell but quick.

tis why i don't laugh at other peoples hoopties. i'm sure MOST of them out there will gun my car.
based upon the way a person talks you can make a good assumption of the caliber of car. Someone who doesnt know what dynotuned is (A local shop for us that went under a little while ago) but in the same breath talks about tuning cars doesnt seem to believeable.

UPDATE...PARTS STARTING TO ROLL IN:
