Ok so, I'm looking at maybe running a single 15. There's a guy local that has a ZVX15 with custom direct leads.

I am interested but looking for some thoughts on. I don't want to hear on "F skar and F Kevin" crap. I could care less if he is a piece of sh1t or not. I just want info on performance and power handling. It will be ran in a trunk on 3kw.

Thanks.

If it helps any, bgowdy, I ran a set of the ma8s that were rated at 400wrms, on my saz1500v3 at 1ohm and the did very well. Btw, sup, dude.
Nm.... Just debating on trading for the zvx 15 because I'm trying to get rid of my suv for a car. What about you

after rise and voltage drop it'll be only overpowered by a few hundred watts, these subs have decent cooling and are pretty beefy. I know their vvx lines can take 1k easily.
Kew I of course would do a smaller enclosure to help it handle the power

This is a BAD myth that needs to go away. A smaller enclosure DOES NOT help power handling. A coil will still only handle what it's thermally rated to no matter what size box the sub is in. If anything, putting the sub in a smaller box loses cooling because the sub isn't moving as much

I think OP is talking about efficiency instead of thermal power handling. A bigger box with lots of port area can reach mechanical limits faster. However power handling is already predetermined by coil design. The two are different subjects. I'd still go with a box that models well to the response that you want op, throw it on winisd before you build.

I dont know what trade u have in mind but I would run 3k on that sub
It would be my xl 18 for his zvx 15. I will have no use for the 18 once I get a car.I don't want to build a 18 in the trunk

What Jeff said....

Had my 3 vvx 10's v1's @.67 ohm on my pair of 2500's and they were still going 2-3 years later till car was broken into an stolen.. I dnt know much about the ZVX's but if anything like the ole vvx's then 3k should be fine assuming you watch the knob....
