Single vs Dual voice coil

So, pretty much nothing whatsoever to do with sound quality or production?
Nope. Nothing what so ever to do with performance. For production... sort of. Making one model sub that is, for example, dual 2ohm, would be like the manufacturer making two models, one being 1 ohm SVC and the other being 4ohm svc. So there is *some* argument for it making the manufacturer's life easier too. But in reality its mainly for flexibility for the customer.
