single sub help

Hey guys just bought a new car and I'm trying to hook a new system up in it. In my old car i was running 2 rockford fosgate p1 12's at 250w a piece. I decided in my new car that I wanted to just run 1 12 at 500w so i didn't have to buy a new sub amp. My question is what sub would you recommend. I've been looking at a few and so far I've narrowed it down to 2.

you trying to get loud or just decent bass? your old setup would be louder then a single sub setup because of cone area. Whats your current amp atm?

I know my old setup will probably be louder. I was running both of them in a small truck box though so im hoping to get similar results from one in a proper ported box. I listen to every type of music so im looking for the best all rounder however i do listen to a lot of bass heavy music. Im running a kenwood excelon x500-1

Whats the budget? there's a wide range of better built and sounding subs out there.

HDS212 if its around 100$ budget Will utterly destroy the type S and p2 subs in every way possible even if both were in their optimum enclosures.

Or if you still want to run two subs, you can also get D2 subs around 250 watts rms each and wire them in series. All depending on what you want to give up.

If your old setup was a small truck box then either way you'll be louder and sounding better if you have more space for an adequate enclosure.

My budget is really whatever I have to spend to get it to sound good. If you think I'm better off buying two subs again I'll do that. I was really just wondering what was going to give me the best performance
