Single DVC 2ohm Sub final impedance 2ohms

Regardless of how I'm wiring this sub, I can't seem to get myself down to 2 ohms or up to 2 ohms. I end with a final of 4 or 1.

This seems like a no brainer with 2 subs but with a single I'm either confusing myself or having a Charlie Sheen moment.

Sub: DVC 15 2ohms on each coil.

Amp: Mono 2 ohm stable 4 and 1.

The thing was running at 4 ohms and it pounded like a vegas Hoo... it hit hard. But I'm not really using any of my amp at this point and I really want this thing to either work at 2 ohms or force it to 1 ohm and blow it so I have a reason to buy some 12s or a single 15.

A DVC 2 ohm woofer allows for a 1 ohm or 4 ohm load only.

DVC 2 you can wire it to 4 or 1. If you have 2 subs, you can wire it to 8, 2, .5.

you cant get a final 2ohm load with a D2 sub........ you can do 4ohm / 1ohm (or 2x 2ohm = 2chan amp required)

get another 2 ohm dvc sub and you can get 2 ohms

See I knew it was a simple solution.

I'll switch over to 1 ohm and see how long this thing lasts.

It's an old series mbquartz 1500.1 so who knows. Just waiting for stuff to fail so I can get something new.

This confirms that I need to get 2 new 15s though, only local shop near me sells Alpine and Memphis //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif well RF too but my box is way too small for one of their 15s (cant remember the name).

My current box is a ported beast for a single 15. I guess I could build a sealed setup for 2 15.

Just throwing this out there, why not try and find some sucker on craigslist for your current setup, then use the money towards new stuff?
