Single 15" in 03 Dodge Neon

Alright, so here is my question/dilemma. I have decided to go with a single 15 on my next set up. Basically trying to maximize my cone area with a single sub, and also prove to myself that big subs sound as good as smaller subs. I had a single 12 RD Alpha V1 and man it got loud! But it was sub back, port back (slot)... However, I do not think I can fit the 15 the same way, because of height restrictions, not to mention the box will have to be much bigger.

Has anyone dealt with a Neon trunk? Could you give me some ideas or tips from your experience. I know I am probably going to have to take the middle seat belt out, which isnt really a big deal, but I still feel like I can only fit the sub with sub up, port back, or port side. I will be using an aero on the box. Probably a single 6.5".

If for some reason this idea fails, I will probably go with 2 10s, possible 2 12s, but would more than likely seal the 12s. I really do miss my Alpha V1. I should have kept it. I was only putting maybe 1200 watts to it, and it was LOUD. Of course like everything, it will be trial and error, but a sub I have been dying to try is a RE XXX, so thats what I am going for, or maybe an Adire Brahma.

Some will say and for good reason ur deck/lid will take a a beating and well they will but after 60sqft of AT problem solved. Much louder then my old sub and port back combo
It's been deaden since day one. Lol. But i'm down to put more!

First layer is fatmatt which does wrk IDC what people say. Then added a second layer of AT on top and bottom of rear deck and boom no rattles. Rear window is doing some mad waves but oh well. My trunk is deap so tech all my subs are right under rear deck maybe half a sub is under the trunk lid so thats a good thing as trunk lid already moves a good inch on its own. Now toss in subs beating right under the trunk lid and wooo I would either break the hinges or it would sound like azz..

i had my TSNS 15 in my VW jetta trunk it was a trunk wall sub and port firing in the cabin. my box was about 8 cubes ported and would have been pointless to face the sub/port any other way since the box was so big. i was getting 46's on a 5k legal on 1 batt since my comp only allowed it. my box was also originally designed as a 4th order so after some testing and 2 blown cones we figured the sub didnt like it and since we were days away from SBN i could get a box rebuilt so i refaced it and ran it that way but not too bad for a frankenbox!!

I was thinking of doing that, but that is too much work for me right now.

Anyone else got ideas on how this will work?
