why you running sealed?ive got a civic too, id say closer to the consistency of a tin can haha
what i wanna know is why my tc9/re mt hybrid, in the same car, doesnt do that running off of 1100rms........ i might just have to go ported.....
just one layer of deadening and i heard a world of difference in mine. might want to consider at least some on the trunk lid. either way nice vid.no deadening whatsoever. just factory. i'm too lazy for that.

yeah but it doesnt even come close to that. youd think 1100rms sealed, larger sub wouldnt get blown away by a 10 ported with 400rms less. it barely even makes my trunk lid flex (does have a layer of dynamat xtreme). eh, maybe ill go ported one of these days.you just answered ur question
well sealed enclosures move about 1/3 of the air that a specified ported enclosure would. so if you built a ported box to spec for your sub your output could as much as triple.yeah but it doesnt even come close to that. youd think 1100rms sealed, larger sub wouldnt get blown away by a 10 ported with 400rms less. it barely even makes my trunk lid flex (does have a layer of dynamat xtreme). eh, maybe ill go ported one of these days.
yeah but the dilema is i was suggested 2.3 cubes for my sub. im really trying to keep some usable trunk space. dont want to get any bigger than the 1.6 cubes im already giving up. could probably go to like 1.9 if i had to. i wonder how much output id lose if i was .4-.7 cubes too small?well sealed enclosures move about 1/3 of the air that a specified ported enclosure would. so if you built a ported box to spec for your sub your output could as much as triple.

eh, our trunk opening is actually quite large. my last box for 3 tens (2.7 cubes) was as wide as you can fit in our trunk and 14 inches tall and i got it in the trunk with very little effort. i was just thinking about selling my jbl bpx and getting something with smaller footprint and a little more power. the sub i have takes my 1000rms and laughs at it. i dont know. well see what happens when i totally break it in. its still pretty new and gets louder everytime i play it.sadly, most of it. i wouldn't do much less than 2.25 cubic feet internally for a 12" woofer generally. which means you are looking at really 2.6-3.0 cubes net with port/woofer displacement. if i were you i would try making a box that can slide in through your cabin area where your rear seats fold down. you can remove your seats for the installation of the box. it will only take 5 minutes to take them out. that way you can make a wider box you wont have to stuff in your trunk and that'll save you some trunk space.
free air it on 15-25 hz. thats a quick break ineh, our trunk opening is actually quite large. my last box for 3 tens (2.7 cubes) was as wide as you can fit in our trunk and 14 inches tall and i got it in the trunk with very little effort. i was just thinking about selling my jbl bpx and getting something with smaller footprint and a little more power. the sub i have takes my 1000rms and laughs at it. i dont know. well see what happens when i totally break it in. its still pretty new and gets louder everytime i play it.
