singe vs. dual impedance?

can somebody explain the difference between each?

for example: why would I buy a JL 13w7 (dual 1.5ohm) instead of a 12w7 (single 3ohm)? what benefits are there with Dual?

Dual gives you more wiring options

you can wire it to different impedences .7 and 3 for the 13

and only 3 for the 12. usually lower impedence means more power unles you have a regulated amp ala the jl slash series

so if I use a JL 1000/1 as my power, it doesnt matter which sub I use cause it'll be 1000watts either way?

but if I use an Amp that pushes 1500watts at 2ohms, I could only use it with the 13w7?

No, if 1500watts at 2 ohms you could run either... You would have to run the w7 at 3 ohms so it would only get ~1100watts to it. Either woofer you are going to get the same power to it with an amp rated at 1500 at 2 ohms.... Now then... If you can find an amp that is stable below 1 ohm and can do .7 then the w7 would be ABLE to get more power from THAT amp.

JBL 15" GTI has dual 6ohm impedances. what exactly does that mean, Ive never heard of 6ohm and expecially a dual 6ohm.

what kind of amp would I want to be looking for to deliver ALOT of power to this sub? its rated at 800watts RMS, 5000watts maximum. I'd wanna push it as much as possible.

You'll get 3 ohms in parallel.... same problem. Best to find a dual 2 ohm woofer and get a mono block amp that can deliver nuts amount of power at 1 ohm.
