Simple question

Hey guys,

Just got a simple question about wire connect to amplifiers. Did a search but didn't return exactly what I was after.

Just wondering about the best way to connect the power, ground and REM wires to an amp. What I mean by that is, is the best way to:

a) Just strip the wires back and screw them down?

b) Strip them back and crimp a ring terminal or y terminal on them?

I assume it's fine to just strip them and screw them down, but was just wondering.

Thanks guys

yea depending on what gauge power wire your using, you can take a razor blade and cut it about 1/4'' back, but be careful not to go down too far or youll end up with little strands of wire in your car or where ever youre working. then you connect them into the amps inputs. the remote wire should be small enough to use a regular wire stripping tool.

the power and ground wires, do the same stripping above, then put the crimp terminal on, place it on the ground or a flat surface, and smash it down with a hammer, but only one side at a time so that each side grips into the wire strands. then you can solder it for a solid connection if you want to.

It's four gauge from the battery to a distro block, then 8 gauge to a 1000W mono and an 800W four channel.

So does solder stick to those ring terminals you can buy in shops with no problem?

Thanks for the quick replies too!!
