simple question...why does bass sound louder in a truck?

and the bass from the outside seems to be louder too..why is that?

Less air space in a cab of a truck than in a car, also the fact that there is no trunk, etc for cancelling sound waves. Kind of the same reason a hatch is louder than a trunked car.
