My friend has 2 JL 12w3's powered by a JL 500/1 amp with a alpine head unit. He payed $1600 including installation. His system sounds good as hell and his bass was +2 and amp gains was a little bit over 60%. I want a system similar to his. I was lookin at 2 audiobahn aw1206t's for $180 on ebay. I know that everyone hates audiobahn and think they **** but i dont have much money to spend on a system. Do you think these subs would pound as hard as 2 12w3's or close. Or does anyone have any other subs to recommend that is similar with a low price.

Also does anyone kno how many DB's he's hitting. Im guessing 130. Thanks

If you really want to go generic, then go with some volfenhags. Belive it or not I used to talk bad about them all the time untill I heard 2 12s a few days ago. I was actually impressed. They were in a ported box, and sounded pretty dam good, and can get very loud. I couldnt believe it, and still cant to this very second. Im not saying to go get them, but they souned good, and handled the low end nicely. The sq isnt as good as the w3s, but they are definately louder. Im not saying go buy them, but they deffinately got the job done nicely. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

No way we could know what he's hitting, just by knowing his amp/subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. Anyway, stay clear of audiobahn man... buy something fairly decent your first time, so you don't wanna switch it out 2 weeks later. You have to understand that your install is just as important IF NOT MORE important than your equipment, this doesnt mean your products don't matter. As for the type r, they are about 125 online each. May wanna check em out. I got one w/ 3 year warranty from shop here for $160+tax. swr-1222d. I don't know why someone would send them 2k watts daily though.

if u want 2 sould louder than your friend and sound good doing it.....get 2 re se 12's and one re 12.1 and u will have him.....and it will cost u around 7-8oo dollars

depending how u set it up..i see no reason why u cant hit 140db's with this setup

I second this motion hands down. My friend just did the same setup and it slams extremley hard in my opinion!
