silk tweeters

I personally prefer silk domes for the most part. I understand the tweeter design can effect the sound possibly more then the cone material, but from all the speakers I have heard, silk domes sound so much smoother and easier on the ears then metal/alum domes. It's all preference though, some people love really bright, possibly even harsh tweeters. I like them silky smooth //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.

yeah i starting to think. silk does really bring the SMOOOTh out of the music. those other types, its harsh and LOUD, and i mean thats not BAD, loud is GOOD. but im going to SQ cause my bostons have really good && loud sq. :]

cross firing against each other across the a pillar. like left one pointing not at you, but near you. then the left one pointing towards the passenger. i'm guessing your not going rediculous sq, so it's no big deal to just run them in stock spot if you have one. but having the left one firing directly at you isn't the best idea.

Yes, crossfire them, put them in the dash or a-pillar each firing at opposite listener.

You could mount them at the windshield, but then you are getting into unpredictable reflections.

Your best bet, which I think most people who actually care do, is get some tape or velcro and wire them up and play with different placements. It relies solely on your goals for your audio. So get some tape and play with it. Personally I think crossfiring is best, but use the tape method to see where they need to be mounted for the best effect.

really ? Is. That bad for the tweeter if you place it there??
i havent tried yet but i dont think i'd personally like it....i have a friend of mine

who had his tweeters placed like that in his envoy...didnt sound too great to me

For me, metal domes work great in home audio, but unless you have a gigantic car, there's just too little airspace in a car for metal dome tweeters.

And for super posh tweeters, you need to get dome diamond dome tweeters:
