SI MAG worth extra $ over SS RL-P?

I was looking to either get a 12" SS RL-P or 12" SI MAG but i wasn't sure if it was worth spending an extra $250 on the SI MAG was worth it. I'm going to power which ever I decide to get with a Rockford P500.2. The birthsheet said it was rated at 646 wrms at 14.4 volts, so would this be good enough to power either subwoofer. Also, which sub has good sound quality yet is still loud in a ported box? Thanks.

this is going to be a back and forth debate. both are going to sounds great and get loud in a ported box but the mag will have more output. so is extra output worth the extra 250$?

Yeah I know its an on going debate but I've used the search button a lot and no one can really say whether its worth the money. I know everyone will have different opions because different people like different things. I just want something that has good sound quality and gets pretty loud in the tiny trunk of my 01 Mustang GT.

I have heard both in several installs.

In my opinion the mag is a better all around driver. I am only running 600rms to mine in a large sealed box. Its plenty loud, and sounds amazing.

The RL-p is a great sounding sub, but IMO the mag is better.

Either sub will be a good choice its all depends on what you want to spend.

I think he knows that they are both excellent drivers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

He has also read many time the mag is a better driver, in most cases(from what others have said).

His question is, is the mag worth the almost 70% increase in price? (in the opinion of those that have had the honor of hearing both)

To OP, this ? has been asked dozens of times...have you searched?

So you quoted me why? I answered which I felt was better. I also pointed out that I have experience with both...

Also, if you read the thread you would see that he stated that he has searched many times...

yeah i've done lots of searching. I'm probably just gonna end up going with the RL-P. Does anyone have any suggestions on how big of a box I could fit in my trunk (01 Mustang)?

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif didn't read it because I dont have experience with both. However, I read the responses to see if others felt the difference is price was worth it.

Uh, I read both of those before I posted:)

Never saw where it said wether the price difference was justified //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Show rides has a stand( don't know what year) Might see if he knows.

Ported or sealed? You wanted ported right?
Yeah I want a ported box but not sure if i do make 2 cubic ft, I'm not sure if it'll fit in the trunk because the trunk itself has a good amount of room but the opening of the trunk is small and the opening from the cabin to the trunk is also small.

Cause I cant answer that for him. It was for me...But I have owned 2 mags and have yet to pay retail. If I did have to pay retail, I'd still probly pick a 12" mag up.
