OK like the title says....is the Si mag an overall better sub than the re sx.. i currently have an sx. Its a udal 4 ohm so i can only get a 2 ohm load..it gets about 1200 watts and is real loud.. is i can get a one ohm load my amp will push closer to 1700 watts..will a mag sound better and be louder.. it would be in a 4 cu ft box tuned to 35 hz... also what else can you compare a mag to.

15" sx...i want it to be louder so if its not worth the change i wont do it..if that isnt what else thats not crazy expensive will be louder , sound good and take 1500-1700 watts rms

get an hd3. i have used a mag, sx, and hd3 in the same box, amp, etc. the box favored the mag, so it sounded the best. but the hd3 got louder, still sounded pretty good, and was my favorite out of the 3. plus that power is too much for a mag.

Too much power. I repeat...too much power. I hope you like hearing coil and backplate tap dance.

Tested single mag 12" ported in 2.2@35hz 2 4" areo ports. 1 IA 20.1

146.1@38hz and gain close to floor...anymore and it would tap dance.

meh, i might try to see how my mag would like 2200watts. But i doubt i'll try and blow it tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

When you get to 2200rms if you are below 45hz you will hear Clank, clank, clank...rapid and repetitively.

How much wattage did it take approx? Was it the last generation mag? I'm interested in what my 12" claw can take.

Lastest gen and claw are completly different (mine is the newer version with the Desjil motor). There is no approximate because my setup to your will have variables. lets just say sealed I can get mine to tap with 950rms and I can get it ported to do it between 1100-1300.

They really dont need more then 1kw max. Honestly it wont be any louder to your ears from 900-1100 watts and anything above 1100 is not good for the sub.
