Si Mag Broke!!!?????

Just because that's the amp he's powering it with isn't necessarily indicative of him driving 1.5kW into it...

I run my 12" M6mkII12D4 off of a D61500.1 but I'm not putting 1,500w into it...(though the amp will easily do that level of output configured properly)
true, however seeing as his likely cause of death was clipping, i think he was trying to see that 1500 watts as best he could //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

btw, i still dont know if you even have a sundown 1500 lol. im just assuming

how did you set your gains?
50% by ear, im an idiot, but i know what clipping sounds like and it only clipped on 20hz(bass i love you) in a 32hz enclosure.

and then i never played that song again, it just stopped working one day.

do you tihnk its possible that there is a internal wire lose somewhere?

yep, i do, and i love it

hmm. well since iv never own a 2v preout headunit, its hard to judge how far is too much. both the alpines ive dealt with with 4 volt preouts the gain was low using an ocillioscope. but even with a low voltage input like that i would BELIEVE 50% up would be too much. this is just a generalition though, and you cant really go by this method but it gives you an idea of where around that neighborhood you should be

btw, are you sure with that 20hz tone you arent confusing clipping with bottoming out?

i might be wrong....

well lets just say you dont want bottoming out or clipping at the end of the day lol. if it sounds bad, turn it down. you could always buy a cheap dmm and set the gains the right way (or as best as you can without an oscope)

Since you dont have a dmm try hooking the speaker directly up to a 9v battery. If it doesnt move chances are the coils are fried.
not sure a subwoofer would move with a 9v battery. your talkin about 50w for most speakers and 1000w for this sub

but like i said, not sure. i know it works for speakers though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Second side tinsel leads look discolored... sounds like an open coil if the woofer isn't moving and the amp isn't going into protect.
yea, amp is perfect.

ill try the 9v. and a few other things.
