To a certain extent they aren't but if a driver is less boomy or has a flatter response you can tell. I know you are from Fi and your drivers are good, but I don't get how you can even argue that the old Mag let lone the Mag V4 sound better than the Q when every single thing I have read states otherwise. Also there is a prototype Mag floating around that a fair number of people have listened to, and they all say it rapes the old Mag in SQ and they old Mag still beat the Q.

Here are the dimensions. It is kinda crude but i think you will get the picture. I made a side view as well to show how the seat slopes upward. It is why I am having most of my difficulties.

Sp I'm assuming this is going under the rear seat of a truck? If that's the case, I'd go with 4 8s or 2 10s. You could cram a couple of 12s under there, but you only have 1000w to work with, so there really is no point.

I would build a pair of sealed, downfiring boxes for those. That way they can't be seen, which means there will be a smaller chance of them getting stolen. Plus, they'll sound better in a downfiring configuration.

Guys, arguing over which sounds better is not a winnable argument. The Mag should have measurably lower distortion, but whether you will be able to hear this is open to quite a number of factors, including the unreliable ear. The ear simply is not good at detecting non-linearities.

That doesn't change my opinion...I would still prefer the Mag...but most who look to satisfy their ears will probably be happy with either.

Never ever buy something from elemental designs, ever.

Why? I know they had some shady stuff go down in the past, but I haven't heard of a single problem with them since I joined here. They have some very good products, even if they have had some issues in the past.

Because people like you insist its all ancient history. Its not my fault you missed Rudy's release of his findings on the latest eDead, and its appalling failure under heat testing.... just yesterday. Or the JL scandal of a few months ago. Or the Tang Band scandal just last year. And that's just the recent major scandals. I knew about the W7 vs Av2 thing, but I don't see how that hurt their customers at all. Granted, it was pretty shitty of Milne to try to steal JL's tech, but he did change it an people seem happy with the final product. I have heard nothing about the Tang Band or eDead issues.

I'm not saying people don't have a reason to hate them. But they do make a lot of good products that I wouldn't mind owning.
