Si Mag 12 vs Fi Q 15

lol. I've just had people recomend me stuff that they've never heard before... I install it, and it sounded like shit. That was when I didnt know any better. I guess thats more my problem than theirs though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hitbybrick.gif.68a672fae224041f00769a97c2c1bf2d.gif
Well, I can judge based on the SI Bms from last gen, and they sound phenominal yet the Mag sounded even better. If the new Mag V4 sounds even better than that I can assure you that it must sound simply amazing.

yea im just impatient and dont wanna wait for the mags. And I could run both of them off of the 1000watt amp i got now and b fine. The 10 inch Q's are the same price as the 12 inch mags. So to me it would be stupid to waist my money on the Q's. So now I am thinking of one larger driver, 15inch etc........But I found out those arent gonna fit unless I remove the backseat. Which I dont wanna do. So I was thinking two 12 inch Q's. But I have heard those are power hungry so I wud have to buy another amp. Im in a pickle here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

How would a 12" Q need more power then the 10" version? They run fine on 500 watts, people just choose to push the limits and send 1500 when they don't really need to for daily.
I never said it wud. The reason I wudnt get the 10" Q's os because the 12"Si mags are the same price, so it wud be a waist of money when I can pay the same amount for 24" of surface area vs 20" of surface area.

First of all, you don't understand surface area. Second, you really can't compare prices like that when one of the drivers isn't even out yet.

I recommend things I haven't heard relatively regularly because I believe in accuracy over preference. I can't tell you how you'll like a product...what is the point in even bringing it up? I can tell you, however, which product will adhere more closely to the source material.

If you can't wait, get the Q's. If you want 10" drivers, get the Q's. If you want more output, get the Q's (although with 500 Watts per driver, the difference will likely be negligible). If you want what will likely be a lower distortion driver, wait and get the Mag (I would).

Honestly, why would we know what you want more than you do?

You got the concept that 12"s are bigger than 10"s. But your idea of the surface area is way off.

12: 481cm^2

10: 310cm^2

Well the fact of having more surface area will be louder has been beat into my head repeatedly. So what do I not know? Im not tryin to act like I know it all because I know I dont. So tell me what you mean. Yes you are right no one has the new mags but I have just heard really good things about em from people who have heard them. The results are most likely bias, im just tryin to keep my mind open to ideas.

Not out yet but many have listened to it already and have said it sounds a lot better than the old Mag which already spanked the Q in sound quality.
Give me the winning lotto numbers tonight seeing as how your so fantastic at predicting the future.

Edit, on second thought. Do you really think you could sit in a room blindfolded, audition 10 subs, and be able to identify which one you auditioned for each period of time? And pick out your beloved woofer?

I'd be willing to bet, you couldn't. Human ears aren't that good chief //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

The new Mags will no doubt sound amazing. The last ones were great, and anyone who knows anything about the people running SI will trust what they say about the new one. If you're willing to wait a while, the Mags will definitely be worth it.

However, if you want to buy now, disqualifying the Q based on the price of a nonexistant sub is downright stupid. There isn't much out there right now that can compete with what the Q does at the same price point. The only one I can think of off hand is the SSA Icon (another sub you should take a look at).

Well, you stated that two 12"s would have 24" inches of surface area, which..If the subwoofer was shaped as a ruler, that would make sense. But, its circular.
