Short Video : AudioQueHD315 rippen some paper

I have the same sub as well. Keep the tuning at 40hz, it sounds best at that. I've tried 32-34hz and the response really craps out if you tune low. You may gain a LITTLE low end, but your high end extension diminishes and it is noticeable.
40hz is perfect and you'll still get the lows. What bass_lover1 is true in general, but this is a unique sub and those rules don't really apply to it. If you don't believe me, watch the vid in my sig. All the songs being played get low and if you want more lows, get more power. I'd also suggest a larger box, like 4.5ft3 and aero's.
bigger port area this time? that will make the biggest difference. i built a box for my ten and i about doubled the port area and it got crazy loud compared to before. i think i should have tuned a hair higher though, i'm at 33.xx hz, i might cut the port down a little bit.

Hey bra I read the whole thread, and just to let u know 40hz is the magic number,.I used 6" areo in 4-4.5 is perfect,I found the best in my truck to be 4.5 @ 42hz .

And is that a G basket on a hd3 motor? Did DD do this for u?

my point exactly.

is there a way i can check for clipping just by listening ex: just slowly keep turning up gain until i notice distortion or just leave it where its at now and be safe.

when it starts to distort stop turning the gain up and maybe turn the gain back down just a bit. But im sure with that amp it wont make that much of a difference for daily driving. Id just keep the gain there and save, save, save for a better amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

what do you guys think would be a better amp at a cheap affordable price (next step up)

no one say kicker>>way out of price range //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

cant wait until i get a new car and then 1 or 2 more of these subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I couldn't wait for a new car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif Been running an HD315 for all of 2-3 weeks. Box is 4.5^3 @35hz, loud, low, and good SQ. But I picked up another one on Thursday for a little over 2 bills, so I couldn't pass it up.

Called DJ and he said they'd work in 3 cubes @ 38Hz, so I'm going to try and stuff them in the trunk of my Altima. Have a 2nd Sundown on the way. Hoping for a good sounding LOUD trunk car. If the boxes don't work out I'll go back to the single one in the bigger box for now. That'll just motivate me to get a new ride I can squeeze 9 cubes into...

For the guys running them at 40Hz, how do they sound for a daily driver? Still good SQ and hittin the lows?

I figured I'd try 38 first as I can always shorten the ports to hit 40.
