At the audio shop today I saw they had a used CD3000 for sale, so I bought it and hooked it up at the shot. It didnt work right. So I forked out the extra cash for the C4000 and all I can say is WOW. The amount of sound quality this unit brought to my sound and substage is unbelivable. I never knew how much a good sounding stereo depended on a very good processing unit. I also now see why people prefer to run just a frontstage. With my other headunits, fronts just werent enough but this unit produces so much clarity and sound at high volumes it consumes my whole car. It is by far the best headunit I have EVER owned and am very happy to have gotten it. I'm not sure if I can go active with this unit, does anybody know? I plan on replacing my EA2000 with an EA4000 and adding in dome 4.5" coaxials to my door for an active 3-way frontstage. The only drawback I dont like about this unit is its visual is very dull. Very minimal, looks like something youd get in a cheap sony headunit. But not THAT bad. It still looks great, but it could be better. Overall I give this unit 9 out of 10 (minus one for bland visuals). Ill get pics tomorrow due to it being 12:30 and dont feel like going back outside and taking pics. I got the unit in trade, my clarion plus a little bit of cash. Couldnt be happier. Never knew my components could sound so clean, clear, and crisp.
