Shopping for digital cameras...

Ive got a backpacking trip to europe coming up in a few months and i want a good digicam.

My price range is around 200$ preferable less.

My options in order of likelyhood of purchase are:

Canon a540

Casio elixm ex-z700

kodak c875

The casio is the very top end of my price range.

I would be getting it from circuit city, becasue they already have decent prices, and then i have a 40$ of coupon making it cheaper than ebay...

any opinions, suggestions for cameras?

Im not big on megapixels, as i wont be printing many huge pictures, but i am big on image quality and camera performance.

So if its a 3-4 megapixel camera but takes awsome pics, id be happy to consider it.

I would really like a ~2.5" lcd, pocketable, long battery life. and SD card

ANY SUGGESTIONS/COMMENTS APRECIATED!

meh, had ok turn outs with a casio. then i got a powershot cd400 and wow. (maby out of your price range, but i recomend that one)

You can find a Canon sd450 on ebay less than $200 unless you really care about CC's warranties. Here is a good one for you. Its over $200 but it comes with everthing you are going to need.

yuor model number must be off, cd400 comes up with nill on the intraweb

I dont need super pictures, ill mostly be taking outdoor pics of building and people and such, scince im an architecture major...

i just realized that the canon sd600 is a very good option for me... its 221.25 at CC minus 40 dollar coupon = not bad!

well went to CC and the SD600 is 249, so its 249+tax minus 40$

thats a little much mabye still...

im still considering it. but i found the Panasonic dmc-fx3, and its quite the sexy little beast. same basic features, good reviews, good sample images of steves digicams, and for 50$ less...

im tossed up between the two right now. would the canon be worth the extra 50$ ?

Well i just found my next digital camera... either a samsung nv3 of nv10

They are the sexiest cameras ive ever seen by far, and they get good reviews and have high quality LCD's and innovative technology.

I saw them on display at circuit city, but they didnt have prices and they were on a special stand so i thought mabye they werent out yet, and that i couldnt afford them, but the 10.1 megapixel NV10 is only 262. and the 7mp nv3 is 249

I mostly like it cuse it comes with a rechargable battery, lasts me about 4 hours w/ constant usage. Very high quality detailed pictures
