i have 2 shivas in a 4.6 ft^3 net ported box powered by mtx 801d and one had a spider damaged. The spider almost came completely off the voice coil and tore a bit. Thing is it still plays good but makes a small sound from the voice coil rubbing up against the spider. I don't really know much about the structure of subs but should i just get a new sub or could the spider be glued back on to the voice coil. Is it ok to play the sub like this? It still gets extremely loud.

Dont play it like that or you could shit on all hope of doing a DIY repair. I would say some strong epoxy would hold the spider to the former but you have to make sure everything is lined up and that none drips down into the gap, possibly causing an IDMax type problem.
