It'll work. I tried 1ft^3, 1.25ft^3, and 1.5ft^3 (sealed) and my favourite was the 1.5ft^3. Everyone's different, however.

Some find an even larger enclosure works 'better' to yeild the results they're after.

My roommate has his in roughly 1.1 cubes sealed. It performs well, but craves more space. If you can muster more space, go for it; if not, not a big deal, it will still sound good, just put 16oz of polyfill in the enclosure.

i have mine in a cube each stuffed and they play very well. however one of these days i plan on throwing them in a 1.5 cubes each and seeing how they are.
