Shiva or Atlas?

Jigga what?
Now I know that both the Adire Shiva and Ascendant Atlas are both great woofers for their price but which do you think is better.

I've searched and searched but found no comparisons of these drivers against each other.

As you may know, the Atlas just had a price reduction and now they are selling out at $100 a piece, instead of $145. The Shiva's go for $120 a piece.

We are speaking of 2 12's and I am looking for SQ/SPL 60/40.

Here is the enviroment they will be placed in.

-Powered by a nine.1, so each could recieve a max of 600+ watts (maybe too much)

-each woofer will have anywhere upto 1.5 cu. ft., i'll leave it up to you. SEALED

-will be going in a scion tC, which is a hatchback.

Also, I am hoping that these two 12's will get louder than my brother's 2 2004 12" Type R's, which have the same enviroment as mentioned above except that they each have 1 cu. ft. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

Shivas will outperform Alpine Type Rs (IMO), however that's WAY too much power for them. The MK4s would basically go into power compression after 400. You could get dual 8s and wire them to a 2 ohm load and go with 450 watts to each sub.

The Atlas' would probably get louder, but if you're talking about the XBL^2 versions, they are sold out. I can't say anything on the new versions.

Both will fit the application, and you really can't go wrong with either.

EDIT: Don't get into that competition thing. Not with amateurs (If he is). Unless he knows as much as you there's going to be a half million debates about his ignorance you will have to go over. Things like clipping and the importance of a good enclosure, crossover frequencies, etc. I have to go over that stuff with my rival, who still thinks an enclosure has nothing to do with how loud a sub is, and that the crossover is a volume knob.

Thanks, finally someone responded.

Now that I think about it, let me add the eD 13Ov.2 into the mix. Its a good way to take advantage of their discount system which saves me $111. Basically I would use the same enviroment as before.

By the way, my bro knows almost as much as I do I guess in car audio. You may know even him from this forum (ndnelectronicsgeek). And he probably wont admit to a loss but ah well, I would know that I won which is all that matters.
