Shipping to unconfirmed address

You won't be covered in the event he decides to file a chargeback. Even if you shipped with a tracking number, you get pwnt by paypal. Happened to me twice. It sucks when its a high dollar item.

Don't do it. You have no protection from Ebay when shipping to unconfirmed addresses. I also only ship to US to keep these sort of problems down. If youy stick to US bidders only (setting in Ebay auctions) and accept payment from confirmed addresses only(setting in paypal) then you reduce your chances of being total;ly ****ed by scammers by a VERY large margin.

Dammn...thing is I get the money into my paypal account and then request a check from paypal. Should I request the check, cash it, then send it out.
NO. They will still do a chargeback and put your paypal account into a negative state. Happened to me when I shipped to an unconfirmed canadian address. I don't think paypal confirms any international addresses btw, which is why I don'

t accept bids from outside US.

They're right by telling you that you will not be covered by PayPal's Seller Protection Policy if you ship a won auction item to an Unconfirmed address. If it is a scam and the buyer tries a chargeback then it is possible that you'll get stung.

The flipside of the coin is that if you did not clearly specify somewhere in your listing that you will only ship to a Confirmed address and you decide it isn't worth the risk to ship the item out then the buyer, if they tender payment in full in a timely manner, can file a Non-Performing Seller report on eBay and you could still get stung.

Kindof a danged if ya do, danged if ya don't situations.

With all the BS that goes on over at eBay nowadays you have to cover your butt in every way possible to minimize the chances of getting screwed. This includes very clear instructions on how a transaction is to be handled after the listing has closed. [Ergo "I only ship to US (or wherever)" or "I only take *this* form of payment" or "Winning bidders paying through PayPal will only receive shipping to a PayPal Confirmed US shipping address - No Exceptions. Without a Confirmed address I cannot accept your PayPal payment." etc etc etc]

read above. Because paypal can take that money out of your account just as fast as it was put in there. Thats why.
thats why you dont let paypal hold the money. you withdraw it immediately //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and always keep the actual bank account empty if you do. with explicit instructions not to let paypal withdraw. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif buy from credit cards only, transfer cash to card to cover cost so u dont pay interest. upon withdrawing money from paypal to the empty bank account, you move the money out.
you have to play hard with a fvcktard company like paypal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif this scheme protects you as a buyer and a seller

they can put your account in the negative. Its happened to me before. I sold an item, got payed through paypal, shipped the item, but didnt get delivery confirmation on it through usps. He claimed i never sent the item and filed chargeback. I had already taken the money out of my account, but when they ruled in his favor, they still deducted my account. I was negative 40 bucks. Which is fine, if you never want to use your paypal account again, but i plan on using mine, so the next time i received a payment, it was 40 bucks less than it should have been. So by even taking the money from your account right away, you are still not protected.

Part of a seller's responsibility to be covered under PayPal's Seller Protection Policy is to ship using an online-trackable method which equates to FedEx, UPS, DHL, whatever other commercial courier as they all use online shipment tracking. Or if you use the USPS you'd want to buy Delivery Confirmation or my personal favorite, Signature Confirmation which not only shows inarguably that the package got delivered but was accepted by someone holding some sort of ID identifying them as the intended recepient. Shipping to an Unconfirmed address prevents you from being covered no matter what else you do, unfortunately. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Dammn **** it then
Situations like this are exactly why I will not accept a PayPal payment from someone without a Confirmed address. That's not to say I won't sell to them and happily accept their money order, check, whatever (Please Allow up to Ten (10) Business Days for Fund Clearance!) but I take PayPal right out of the equation without a Confirmed addy.

So I could still take his money just by Money Order though?
Absolutely yes you could. Just be sure that you don't ship the merchandise out until the funds clear so you know that nothing shady went on like the payment was halted on the money order or something... (hence my parentheseed disclaimer added to that other post)

Do they even have money orders in Singapore?
I'm sure they do - likely there is something like it in every country in the world that uses some form of currency. Whether or not there are money orders readily available in Singapore written in US dollars, however, may be a completely different story. If your buyer goes through a service such as http://www.BidPay.com or Western Union or something similar the buyer will pay the service the cost of the winning bid + whatever processing fee(s) might be incurred then you get mailed a money order in your preferred currency (in your case, USD)

They will still hold your account negative and like any financial/credit institution report it to your credit history. Banks and other financial institutions have the law on their side. It is best to cross your T's and dot your I's before conductiing business in an effort to cover your *** completely.

a little off topic here...

i grew up in philipines from 1985-2000, and its postal service is crap compared to usps. so we'd rent a PO box at the embassy... to keep it in the us mail service, but most packages won't ship to PO boxes anyways. one of the cons of living overseas and doing mailorder //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
