-package was shipped 2 weeks ago via USPS Priority

-no tracking number or insurance included

-receipt of shipping is available

-package never delivered (perhaps stolen)

-paid with paypal

what happens now? is the seller or buyer screwed?

curious....

thanks

i would say its on the seller to get the package to the buyer. i would as a seller always insure it. its like 2 bucks from usps to insure up to like 200 dollars.

well if insurance wasn't purchased then the seller is probably sh*t out of luck. This is why you insure everything.

There is no way the buyer could be responsible, all he/she did was purchase a good and it never showed. The seller made the choice on what shipping company to use, and to not purchase insurance.

so the receipt will not protect him?

is there any way the package can be tracked with that receipt?

It's USPS, not UPS or FedEx. My experience has always been "pray it gets there" once the USPS gets a hold of it, as any receipt or "tracking" number is gonna be useless. USPS is cheap, I'll grant 'em that, but they are lousy when it comes to trying to track a package.

I shipped a sub and enclosure to a fella by UPS, and when it got there it was completely F'n destroyed. I immediately refunded the buyer his money thru paypal and filed a claim with UPS. This was over a month ago and I have yet to see my claim money. They hemhawed around like a monkey f'n a football and noone knew what they where doing. Supposedly the claim was accepted this week and "the check is in the mail". The way I look at it, they're UPS and can send that shit to me overnight. Anyways, if I had to do it all over again, I would still refund the buyer his money, since it's the right thing to do.
