I was thinking about doing thise to my caprice. I was just wondering peoples opinions. Okay so do you guys think I should only shave the front two and pop em? OR shave all four and have them all on pop? Also was wondering if you guys knew of any big names of places that do this, and roughly how much it costs. Or if anyone has any knowledge as to how to do it and could help me out and clerify for me what to get and such.

Also, any good websites for car body parts? I need four new 85 caprice classic doors and havnt found a website to get them yet.

yes shave all the doors and make sure you have a way to get in if your battery dies. some people shave the key holes too so thats why i said that. anyways my cousins shop shaves door handles. they said for me to do my mustang it would be around $300. that was the popers, doing it, and they was going to try to match the paint the best they could till i got ready to paint the whole car.

300 bucks is cheap if you ask me.. I would probably do it if there was someone around here to do it that cheap, and do it right.. Find out shops around your area and let us know what people are charging..

Andrew

yeah i thought $300 was cheap too. but its my cousins shop so theyll do just about anything cheap for me. i just never have the funds to do it and they are always busy with other projects that get charged full price. lol. make sure you get pics from local shops of their past work. look at the paint and make sure you cant see the old lines from the handles. theres a few cars around here that you can still see where their handles was. they didnt get it sanded down even enough.

id segest running a + and - down somewhere low, with post's on them so if ur batt die's you can still jump the batt in ur car.. without hvaeing to brake in....

i had to bust a window one time. till i ran a + and - down by my frame.... saved me twice so far.

why wouldnt I shave on somthing i want massive bass? my handles are becoming loose and rattle a bit, and i dont want MASSIVE bass, just 100+ for daily driver, but i want this car more for show than straight up sound.

so none of you think i should do it myself? I mean, my dad will weld for me, or i can bring it to shop calss, but i can weld it, grnad it, sand it, and primer it, it couldnt be that hard. and as far as the poppers go i dont know price ranges or install costs, but i was thinking it might be annoying or all 4 doors, but who knows, but okay so an alternate means of getting in?

I wanted to shave keyholes on all but the drivers door, and take off all handles. I also plan on shaving the trunk, but maybe not on this mod. So how would i get another way in? i mean just having an unshaved keyhole wouldnt rlly let me in? and honestly i was thinking leaving on hole unshaved might be stupid because it defeats the ultimate purpose of security.

Anyways, i get my car back in the next few months, so im sure i will be posting my first ever installl that was worth mentioning with my mephis pr 12" and a crap amp, but on top of that pics of my car will surface and the body work boom will go fast, im replacing four doors, 2 fenders, hood, grinding and sanding the frame (to coat with rustoleum, then truck bed liner, then sand, then possibly a coat of fiberglass), eventually wheel wells will be modded and it will be bagged to the rockers on 22"s or 24"s.

Im gonna ask around at local shops, but i cant imagine any of them being much good at is because of where i live, so ill probably end up doing it with the help of friends and a lil from my dad.

if you feel you can do it yourself then try it. i just know ive seen alot of cars that had shaved handles but you could still see lines b/c they didnt get it filled in enough or sanded down enough. as far as keyholes and all that goes i just know its a pain to get in your car with no handles or if your batt dies. but what seth said could work. and louisanacrx said dont do it to something with alot of bass b/c the bondo would prob start cracking over time from the flex. at least thats my guess.

Don't do it on something you plan on having massive bass in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
???

Dead batteries? Bad bondo work?

Confused...

youre supposed to weld filler plates in first. do it right and nothing will crack
