Share possible ways to edit AVCDH camcorder files (TS, MTS or M2TS) on Mac

While shot some nice recordings with your AVCHD camcorder, you may want to edit them for better enjoyment. Here I will share with you the possible methods to edit MTS/M2TS files on Mac, including Snow Leopard.

iMovie

As we know, iMovie is a proprietary video editing software application which allows Mac users to edit their own home movies. In other words, you can make iMovie edit ACVHD files in the formats of MTS or M2TS if your budget allows and your Mac meets the following two key requirements: the first is that you have to make sure that you have iMovie '09 or newer version software; the other is that you need the Mac with Inter-based Core Due processor or better processor since iMovie is hardware. Therefore, Power PC G5 or older Macs will not work for editing high-definition AVCDH files with iMovie.

Final Cut Pro

Final Cut Pro is a professional non-linear editing software application which is the premium choice for any Mac video editing. The Final Cut Pro 7 is the most up-to-date support for AVCDH available, with 6.0.1 being the first version of FCP with AVCDH support. To edit MTS/M2TS, you should make sure that you have installed Final Cut Pro 7 and you have the experience to edit AVCHD with FCP before.

Adobe Premiere Pro CS4

Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 is an alternative choice. But it has its limitations now that neither the Mac version nor Windows version supports the AVCDH files.

Free the above three editing software applications, you may find that each editing program has its limitations. Is there another alternative way to edit MTS/M2TS on Mac? Of course, there is. Just use a third party – Mac MTS/M2TS Converter, which not only can convert AVCHD files to other popular video format with ease so that you can use any editing software application (iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro CS4) to edit AVCDH files but also can edit AVCDH files itself, like crop, trim, merge, watermarks, effect, deinterlace, audio replace, etc.

That’s all. Hope the article may greatly help when you plan to edit AVCDH files on Mac.

MOD Converter for Mac

This self-explanatory and excellent Moyea Mac MOD converter works like a charm on Mac OS X. It could perfectly compress and convert the MOD footages from digital camcorders (JVC, Panasonic, Canon) to any other video formats like AVI, MPG, MOV, DV, MPEG, MKV, 3GP, MP4, VOB, MP3, MKA, AC3, M4A, etc for playing back on portable devices (iPod, iPhone, Archos, PSP, Zune, Creative Zen, cell phones, etc.), burning to DVD with burning software (Nero), editing with other video editors (iMovie, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.), and more with amazing quality.

In addition, want to get wanted clips, please use trimming, want to cut black screen, please use cropping, want to remove interlaces, please checking deinterlacing, want to get more better quality, please enter format settings, want to achieve more, please select MOD Converter for Mac
