seriously . What is the point of a Processor?

Like I am wet behind the ears on this one, what is the advantages/disadvantages of an external processor? What does it too that a HU can't do? I can see the advantage of a seperate EQ but that is it.

Really good DSP requires more room than a HU has in it.

lower noise floor

stronger voltage output

individual channel eq and crossovers

that's the key word normal. seems things seem to be coming in smaller packages. like the new pioneer p01/p99 unit.

but ya basically what they all already said. you have steeper slopes, more bands of eq, individual channel seperation and settings.
