Sup guys.... 1st time post long time reader.

Here is a little something that I worked up and had patented. So hopefully I will be selling that sometime soon and make some money for my kids education. Killed 2 birds with one stone with that one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Took me about 3 weeks on and off to build. But the performance and quality was exactly what i was looking for. Original build was 2 eD D2 Eu-700 subs in the rear deck IB. Bass was there but the drop wasn't. Keeping in mind of a DD with bass and a stroller is something that is hard to come by in a econo box. So my plan was worked up by mistake when toying with the spare tire well idea. But... I need the tire JIC. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

It's also pretty funny to see the look on some people's faces when they here this and when I tell them it only a couple of 6" subs....they are pretty much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Only running them off 1 channel of a classic punch 500a2. They get the needed pleasure if you will.

So here is the final product.

Sorry for the big pics for you people in the 15" screen time warp.

BTW... I forgot to mention the tie down was removed from the stock location and re mounted with a new threaded line up though the center of the box and the rim of the tire. All held down by a wing nut... So it doesn't move.... Very nice and easy to remove for track days.

that fiberglass is wayyy to thin, lol

and since you already put the top on it in the picture and the glass is formed to the wheel well you could not have added layers to the outside

so yeah way to thin

thumbs down //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

pretty clean tho , wonder what it sounds like , far as tha patent , not sure what the market is for two 6's in a spare tire , probly not as lucrative as your thinking tho . . .
x2 But im sure you can beef up the resin and put a single 8,10, or 12 in there..sealed any would be fine..

this design as in inside the tire has been done check out forums like fiberblass.com and stevemends designs can go back 5yrs and see this design //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Nice setup, but definitely have seen it before... Good luck actually making any kind of money on it though, the market wouldn't be enough prolli to even make a profit. You'd make more money just by having another box building company like every other person on the forum does.

I have seen many installs in the tire well before and even one with a tire like you have. It looks nice, but it does seem that the fiberglass is way to thin.....

Also I rock two 10's with 1700rms to them and can fit a baby stroller, her diaper bag and plenty of other things if need be in my trunk.

Oh yeah and my box is ported and right at 2.2cft in a 06 ST Focus trunk.

Well from what others have said about the glass being to thin. Its wasn't really shown but the glass was reinforced and is approx 1/4 thick. Well more than enough glass for structure. But you also have to remember that this is sitting into the rim of the tire. The glass isn't going anywhere as in flexibility.

As for patent..... I own it. So if anyone else decides that they want to build and sell these. They are out of gas. You have to remember that you don't need a mock up for a patent. You can patent an idea on paper all you want. If you see that someone designed something along the exact same idea. You own it... owning is key here guys. But I would like to see some links or pictures of someone doing the exact SAME thing with a bolt in tie down for all that said its "been done"... because I have yet to see anything of the sort.

I do plan on doing a flat cone shallow 10" from eD some day also. So I will see how it goes.

As for sound quality... I think for what its worth it sounds amazing. Only main issue here is that most people on these forums are SPL this SPL that... I could care less on how loud it is. I had my days of 2 15" XTR's and 6 12's M&M's. When you loose 20% of your hearing you learn to respect what you are left with.

These do me just fine... And believe it or not... These little *****es do quad enough for me to enjoy them.

Thanx for the feed back tho.
