Most bills are passed without many senators reading the bill, or only reading a small portion. Nothing new. You'd think with as much on the line, they would make an exception however.

They pass or deny most bills without reading them. There is no way they could read every bill that comes across their desks. They just know what is basically entails. It sucks but that's how it works. They interviewed the guy who petitioned for the latest steroid ban bill and he didn't know anything about steroids or the bill itself. I would assume this is how things go much of the time.
