secondskinaudio response from Anthony. Questions for you guys

The edges are razor sharp. What more needs to be said?
What are you doing to handle the edges? I cut it with scissors, lay it down, and the roller does the rest. Only time you have to be careful is when cutting it, and that has just never posed any problem. Its alum foil, bend down the edge you are gonna grab if you think you'll get cut. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Everyone says how bad they cut their hands up on the foil layer of these mats while applying it.... am I the only one who never has that problem? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
Yup, I don't get it either. I laid around 200sq ft in my truck and about 40 in my mustang and never got one cut //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I no way do I feel like the OP is in any way calling me a liar or even coming close to implying it.

I think it just comes down to CYA.

No matter what I say, I am stillthe guy that owns the company, and still the one that is profiting moitarily. It only makes sense that he wants to get some fresh opinions on the subject. $600 is a good chunk on change!

From the customers stand point, seems logical that I would want to sell as much as possible.

From my stand point, I try to do the best I can for the customer.

My favorite customers are the ones that have an idea of the budget they want to stick to. This allows me to take holistic approach and make a sound, and informed recommendation. When they give me a budget, I at least have a starting point. From there, I can look at the car, their goals and their comfort level for each product and make and them cram as much stuff in to their budget as possible.

Some customers are more realistic than others and have to hear the bad news, in which case I try to be as gentle as possible. I get a lot of people that don't know square footage, and think that a 10 sq foot kit is a single 10' x 10' sheet, and are very upset to hear that they need to by 8 or 10 of these to properly dampen their car.

Then, I get the other guys that want to spend $2k, and load up on every product we sell. I give a very similar talk to them, explaining that the difference between a $2k package and an $800 package is noticeable, but not by leaps and bounds. An $800 will rock most customers socks off.

In any case, I usually try to stick with what the customer wants, and inform them as we talk. This way they know why they are buying each product, and know that they are getting a good deal.

I hope that helps

sounds like if I save an extra $200 i'll be good to go. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Nah, I think you will be more than happy with the package I suggested.

With sound deadenin, the more you use the better (generaly).

Wach product does have a point of diminishing returns though.

The package I reccomended is getting kind of close to that point with the vibration damping, but you could stand to use a bit more if you wanted to go all out.

But IMO, you will be very pleased with everything listed.

you can never have enough deadening...unless of course your carpet and panels dont go back on but then again who needs them anyways.

I have what is listen in my sig in a 2000 integra, not a very big car. Believe me you can find a place for 5 gallons of spectrum. I sprayed my spectrum, but i also have a very large compressor.

I would go with his suggestion, i think you will be happy. And i know you were not questioning whether he was just trying to sell you stuff but just incase Ant is the only rep i have ever seen recommend a competitors product, now thats someone who truly cares about the customer

the few times i've dealt with Ant, he's probably one of the most customer satisfaction driven people i've ever come across.
I totally agree. I'm using SSA products for my project truck. The Sludge is great. If you've ever used drywall mud, it's about the same consistancy. I used pieces of cardboard and gloves to apply it to my roof. Then you can just cut the cardboard to the size you need. I applied the Damp and Damp Pro just using a utility knife. I didn't get cut once installing it. Then I went to clean up a couple scraps a few days later and poked myself. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

When I was applying all the products I thought they recommended too much. Then I realized my measurments were a bit off and some of the areas I thought were going to be covered weren't. Just make sure you take good measurements and Ant will steer you in the right direction. If you'd like to talk to other customers the SSA.com forum is a great place to get info.
