Second opinions?

Well, I have been playing around with a few designs and came up with this.

^ Cut sheet on the right of a 4x8x.75 sheet of MDF.

A few specs:

External Box Dim(WxHxD): 41.5x18x18

Port Length: 26 21/32"

Air Space: 4.977 ft^3

Subs Displacement: .4 ft^3

Port width is 2"

With that being said, is each port .5 ft^3?

Net is 4.577 ft^3 before port displacement

I tuned it to 33.8 Hz.

This is for a daily driver for two Audiobahn 12's. It will be subs up, ports back. I also plan on placing another top on the box to flush mount the subs.

Any opinions for this box? Will the tuning be sufficient? I listen to mostly rock, but I do like some rap in there with it.

Now I am planning to try to design this kerfed so the help with this box will be greatly appreciated.

Your going to kerf 2 ports? PITA, why not just do 1 larger port?

Haha, I've heard that before. The only real reason I can give you for going with two kerfed is personal preference on the looks! I have no real reason as for affecting the performance! I put some thought into the 1 large port in the middle or either side but it just never caught on with me so I'm keeping my hopes set on 2 kerfs. Plus, my uncle will be helping me cut all this since it is his equipment and he said he has done kerfs before with no problem so he said we should be able to make it all happen whenever!

One larger port in the center with 2 kerfed sides would look sweet too

^Pioneer designed this a while back, but after more consideration, I have desided I need to downsize just a little bit to still maintain some function out of my cargo area. I am hoping to have LED's shining from the inside towards the ports to light them up, and I am still undecided on whether to resin the whole box or carpet.

EDIT: The sides will not be left open like that. They will be "filled" with MDF for lack of a better term.
