i have honestly written our congressman here in this area and asked for there to be a petition taken for a white history month.

Sounds like you should learn to spend your time more wisely.

i just meant rather than having to type a paper just use this as the report.its is a sad display on either side of race that racisim will always be here because we want it here.

by want it here i dont mean we have to have it in our lives just that every person has their own ideas and beliefs and others may or may not agree. most of the time we will never agree on anything on this topic.

I agree, I think that this would be a perfect example of how little white people have progressed in their views on race.

alright well while you guys were argueing I through some crap together lol and this is what I have. Its late and my essay probably sounds all of the place. I need like one more paragraph though and then i'm calling it a quits. Anyone want to write a paragraph before the conclusion?

Racist Speech

The First Amendment states "Congress shall make no law respecting an

establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the

freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble,

and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." The part of this

amendment that has been becoming very controversial is the right free speech.

Most people say what is on their mind and express how they feel through pictures

and actions. This can offend others, but it is perfectly legal under the U. S.

Constitution. So when do we cross the line?

One exception to the First Amendment protection is when speech becomes

"fighting words." Once what your saying falls into this category, it then becomes

harassment. An example of this would be insulting a person or group face-to-face or

yelling at them. This not only would be harassment but would most likely led to

violence. The Supreme Court defines these "fighting words" as words that "by their

very utterance inflict injury or tend to incite an immediate breach of the peace."

These words are off course not protected by the First Amendment.

The courts state that offensive speech cannot be regulated in the public

if it is unavoidable. For example, this would include school dorms, hallways,

bathrooms, and other living areas. It seems the courts are kind of modifying the

First Amendment. It clearly states "no law should prohibit the freedom of speech."

So in a way, this guideline or rule is setting a limit on free speech.

Even though we are protected under the First Amendment, it seems

authorities are always trying to limit our right to free speech. In the case Feiner vs.

New York (1951), a university student speaking on a sidewalk to a crowd said, "rise

up in arms fight for their rights." The crowd became restless and more aggressive.

The police asked him to stop speaking, but he refused and was then arrested. This

student was not using any "fighting words," and his speech was avoidable, so why

was he arrested? This just goes to show that there is no define line between legal

speech and offensive speech.

Some things are just better off left unsaid. There are always going to be those

people who will say anything just to try to offend people. Sometimes people just

have to not let it bother them and just ignore it. Although there is a lot of racism

nowadays, many people make a big ordeal over the little things. There would be less

violence if people would just let the authorities know when their rights are being

violated instead of taking action in their own hands.

that is using my time wisely i am unable to work due to an injury while in the military that requires surgery.

crazy part is the accident was caused by a very good friend who was doing what he shouldnt have been and i wound up with a broken back

We are trying to oppress the blacks so they will turn to violence and kill each other off. It's the only way to wipe out a race and be under the radar. Sending all coloreds to concentration camps would be too obvious.
