Sealing a wall around the baffle. Gain much on the meter?

I have a wall. And I do plan on using silicon to attach the baffle to the interrior. Right now there prob is an average of a 1/6 inch gap all the way around. and I am just curious. How much can you really gain by doing it. Is it audible ? I am trying to remember but i had one I drove for a while before I did it and I really think I gained to the ear a good amount. But it is such a small crack not sure how much it effects it. So anybody metered before and after sealing the small gap around the baffle? results?

Difference can be as much as 2 dB.

This is what I have gathered from others.

I am not sure through my own experience as when I build a wall, I build the sides of the enclosure all the way to the inner skin of the vehicle, so there is no chance for air leakage at all.

I never ended up getting my old setup fully sealed, but it was close. Going from that to almost nothing was a decent change. 1-2dbs tops, probably wouldnt get muuucchh more from that point, I would guess minimal gains. For db drag and comp guys, it would be a good way to squeeze out a few more, but for a daily setup I wouldnt go as far as to mess with any part of the car as to not be able to return it back to stock.

Well i dont' care about it. But when you almost nothing to sealed 1 to 2 db. what ya mean almost nothing? no baffle? or just no sealant

No baffle to seal it off, it was basically just a big box sittin back there, then I put the panels in to start sealing it off. I never got it completely air tight, but most of it was really close.

I used a lot of expanding foam for sealing.
