SDc2.5 10" vs. DC L3 10" vs. SSA Dcon 10

Definitely SDC or level 3. I have an sdc in a terrible box that was made for a burp and it still plays into 30s not with authority like it should but drops low yes. Tuned somewhere in the high 40 to 50hz range iirc. I'm building level 3 10"s right now with level 4 recones but had a stock level 3 12" and it got loud and low off 800wrms.

I have 2 12 SDCs, my friend has 2 12 Lvl 3s. I ride in his car almost every other day so I probably have the best comparison, but obviously our cars are different. The Lvl 3s have much better sound quality, his box is tuned to 32 hz. It smashes the lows, but it does lack a bit on the highs. My SDCs, tuned to 36 do get a little louder, sound pretty decent, can hit the lows but not like his lvl 3s. Both subs are tanks. What music do you listen to?

Well see, thats the thing, the SDCs like higher tuned, the lvl3s like lower tuning... you buy the sub and then get the box built for the sub. For your music taste, even though the SDCs will sound better with rock, the lvl3s will still keep up on rock no problem and will sound better on hip hop and jazz. Also consider the price, DC is a little more expensive.

i kno somone who works for dc is on this site...is it dcsoundlab? i wanna order one of these bad boys
I don't think dcsoundlab works for DC, bro. He lives in London, KY and DC is on the other side of the country.

Call (775)-425-5700 or send an email to dcaudiosales@gmail.com

They may still be at work right now, so call soon. If not now, you'll most likely have to wait until monday...

fail on my part....ya ill call them monday haha im gonna put the SA8 up for sale...i need some kind of bass till i get it...prolly put it in .9 and tune that ***** to 30 lawl

Yeah the Dcons are very nice and sound great. But won't take the beating that the Level 3's can.

The 3's can handle power well, will still sound good, drop low if tuned low. anything in the 600-900 range should be just fine.

The Dcon shines with 300-400 but with a 2" 4 layer copper coil, much more could end badly.

AQ > DC for rock musicDC > AQ for hip hop & jazz music

Explain why please. Thanks...
I think he is hinting at the comparison in common frequencies of those genres. And how the tuning "preferences" of the sub will play into said genre's frequency range //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

On a side note, My Level 4 (not 3) had a sizable peak at tuning (32hz), but was still able to handle itself ok with the 60-80range. Granted, the new Dcons (34hz) are missing the low-lows but are helping fill in the 70-90hz range very musically.
