get the #6 predrill bit w/ countersink. if u want a pic of how it looks like ill take a pic for you.

I use the brass partcle board screws but that is because I think square drive > phillips head.

I agree, I think they are too. But then I don't have any at home so I normally don't use them.

i work at Lowe's so I usually pick some up there when a box is 1/2 used and then returned.
