I purchased ~$500 in tools from sears online, including a 306pc mechanics set. Got the package today, no 306pc set. The box looked like someone beat the **** out of it and retaped it.

Anyone have a problem like this with a big company such as sears? What was the outcome? Its after business hours so all Im getting when I call are overseas *edit* mufaqqas sounds like im talkin to a computer.

just call and let them know, I hope you still have your receipt and everything. If it shipped via mail and not to a store it will probably be covered by insurance as stolen. If it was on sears side it wouldn't have been ripped up and retaped it would have never been put in to begin with.

from what i read it seems like it was handled badly and ripped out of the box. it was retaped but probably still fell out. itll be covered by the shipping company. but if it were packaged properly it wouldnt have ripped and fallen out so easily.

I called and talked to them and they escalated it to a missing item something.. Like I said i couldnt understand **** he was saying. Ill call again in the morning to talk to someone. I still have the confirmation they emailed and everything. I took pictures of the box before I opened it and I also just realized the shipping label says 59lbs, aint no ****** way what was in there weighed 59lbs. So, we will see how it plays out. Not too happy about it

my guess is he used a variation of the N word which is a banned word on this forum and was trying to see what he could get away with.
Well, add Sand in front of that banned word and then think of another derogatory term.

Its quoted, bro

dude i just got this same 306 piece set today thats so weird! its ******* awesome by the way...oh and do you have any packing tape i can borrow? i ran out earlier today

actually, not completely true. i recieved an amp this summer from an unnamed individual on this site, and it was packed real nice when he dropped it of....well, the inspector ripped it open, and failed to properly re-pack, so the amp got all beat up with bent feet that chipped paint off and broke plastic peices, broken power terminals, and a few missing screws...and it left near mint condition....... i pretty much knew what happened right away from the usps tapped up self-sealing flat rate box...... my money is on that they did not handle it well, and droppedit a few times too many, and taped it back up, not even knowing what fell out, nor where the 306 piece toolset came from....

If I would have seen that box and it possibly being tampered with I would have taken a photo, refused to accept it and called Sears with the problem and return number from the shipping company and ask for an email for their shipping lost prevention department and sent the photos of the damaged/retaped box.

Hope it works out for you but now you have to deal with them thinking you might be pulling a fast one trying to get more stuff for free.

Good luck!
