Scammed by paypal?

So I bought some amps off of ebay. The guy took 2 weeks to ship so I had a claim open. He shipped me any empty box (im assuming to have a tracking number) and he gave it to paypal. Paypal accepted the tracking number and I dont know what to do from here..what do i do? I doubt the guy has any money in his account. Did this guy just get away with $300?

Call the police and tell them what? "some guy ripped me off online for $300" I doubt they would take it serious. Most likely the address he gave me and every thing is fake. The phone number is a fake.

I dont have the link right here with me. This didn't happen to me but to my cousin I just want see what you guys think I should do.

His contact info seems to be fake also. Has the same number I called and the number is not in service.

Doesnt paypal or ebay verify a credit card when you register?

So that would mean some of his information would be correct, right?

Anyway, what type of feedback did the guy have?

I think Pay Pal has some kind if security warranty, but I think it is extra charge.

notify paypal and they can give your money back depending on conditions and how long its been.

not sure if its true, but you can send a paypal payment and retrieve it within an amount of time. if the paypal is linked thru your credit card, call your bank and withdraw that amount off paypal back. thats if it was an transfer

I didn't buy the amp. My cousin did. I just posted up his situation. I have to get the link from him today.

File a complaint with paypal, Leave neg feedback, call the police, call the BBB, call the state district attorney. I did all the above and heres the result so far...

of the 400 i sent him got back 183$ his paypal and ebay rights linked to his fin info have been revoked. I didn't do an auction so neg feedback is n/a. They filled him in an ever bigger group of ppl being investigated for fraud and now have a RECORD for his crime to stack up when he does do something bigger, The attorney is following the po's actions closely and is looking into other means.

so in short. YOU might get some money back and If your lucky the basterd wont go on to do it to other ppl.

Another thing I learned is from now on anythng say over 100$ go through an escrow esp on car audio stuff cause theres just to many jerks outhere messing it up for the rest of us!!
