No, because they can do a chargeback or something. They send payment, it goes into your account, then they contact their bank or something sayin they accidentally sent too much, and then they take more out of your account.

Best thing to do is stop making contact with the person and report them.

Little harsh, at least he made a thread asking opinions before doing it. If he was a scammer he would have done it and hopefully not started a thread incriminating himself in the process.

No! Please do not listen to this quote. haha I've been online for several years now, and heard every single scam possible across craiglist. Just ignore him is your best bet. Do not waste your time, or his time. He's going to send you a check, the banks going to cash it, you send him your head unit, few weeks later you get a call from the bank, saying it was a fake check, and you have to pay it for that amount. No - not harsh at all.

The fact that he even entertained the notion if only for the briefest instant (at least to me) speaks volumes about his personal ethics...or lack thereof.

Consequently I wouldn't buy the first bloody thing from him.
