Have a couple of questions about the gain and bass boost on this amp. First my H/U is rated at 4V output, which I assume is 4V when the "bass level" is all the way up? What are the approximate ranges on the amp, i.e. all the way to the left = 0, middle = ? and all the way up = ? What exactly does the bass boost do, or what does it "boost". Also on the remote knob, what does it adjust? Is it the gain or BB? Thanks

Bass Boost amplifies 45hz, so basically gives more volume at that frequency, you can turn it up a little but you don't really need it.

The HU puts out 4v when it is turned all the way up. The bass level setting on the HU simply does something similar to Bass Boost on the amp, giving a signal that leans towards the bass, or "turns up" a certain frequency in the sub-bass region.

The remote knob on that amp, basically acts like a gain or volume knob, that works within the range of the setting o the amp.

Like this, if you have your gains on your amp set to 1/4 turn, the remote knob will be able to turn the subs down, but will not turn them up past 1/4. It basically turns it up or down within the range of the amps setting.

For your gain setting on your amp. Turn your headunit nearly all the way up, with the gains set all the way down, (all the way to the left). Then begin to turn the gain up a little bit at a time, until the signal sounds distorted, then back them down just a hair from that. Gains are there to match HU voltage, the higher the HU voltage, the "lower" your gains need to be.

Thanks for the input. I knew the process of setting gains, I just wanted to make sure I knew what knobs did what on the sundown. This is my most expensive system yet so I just want to make sure everything is right. Thanks again.
