the ps3 a loud blu-ray player? I have watched many movies, played many games, and i still think the ps3 is an amazing machine.
Its very quiet, and I'm a launch buyer, my 60 gig one is pushing strong, no errors ever.

My 360 on the other hand, must have the surround sound on so I don't hear it chuggin away with its vacumm like fans. Even w/ teh dvds. An I just got it last month, the HDMI premium one.

Ne ways, Im hoping blu ray wins out, but its not like i invest much into what format wins.

My ps3 is about 3x quieter than my 360. But if I put my ps3 on its side it becomes much louder for some odd reason.
ps3 has a much better value for the money imo

My ps3 is remarkably quiet...alot more so than my 360. But after doing some online reading. Apparently PS3's with Serials starting with CF are quieter (don't ask me why) and my PS3 has a CF serial number.

I'm still waiting for releases of my favorite movies on HD formats. I have no desire to upgrade formats to see disposible shit like Transformers in better quality.
Although, I hear that Das Boot is being released on BD next month...and 2001 is already on that format...so I guess we'll see...

Don't get me wrong I don't think Transformers was the BEST movie but it was sure as hell MUCH MORE entertaining than 2001. I watched that snooze fest as a kid and again less than a year ago just to give it a chance. Conclusion...............BORING. Good for it's time maybe but it never really went anywhere.

To each his own though, no offense intended. You just seem to have the tastes of a 50 year old man. Not someone who is under 25. Especially in music playback.

As had samsung BD1400 models. Samsung dropped the ball on the holiday shipment of those players and nearly all of them need firmware updates to have the bay-door open, and for the unit to even respond. While on paper it may have looked like sales were phenominal, but I'd like to see the recount after they take into account how many units were returned for being "defective" because people didn't check to see if there was a TSB on it first...
