Saw one of the worst things in my life today

So, I'm driving on a highway, and it's really busy with traffic... Cars were not moving at all. so I'm sitting in traffic and bumpin my music (no houses around, or people to annoy)... then I see a pissed off guy on a motor bike (probably came from around 20 cars behind me) in my rearview just swerve through traffic and in both lanes of the road and driving like a nut. He flies by me (just cutting in and out of cars because nobody was moving) and gets about two cars ahead of me, when his bike spins out and he flies off it, his bike hits another car. I hear the crash and see glass fly everywhere and the guy barely moves... so I turn my music down (because it can only annoy people in a situation like this) and I'm really scared... I started to se a few cars around me pull over to make room for ambulances or other help vehicles and to help the guy.
I was pissed that the guy was doing that, but trying to be a nice guy I pull my car off the road, get out and I try to help... There is already about 5 other drivers who got out to help too. I get out and I ask "anyone need a phone to call for help?" and then I get this stupid reply from only 1 of the guys out there - "**** off moron, get back in your **** car and blast your gay music somewhere else... get the **** out of here". So I say, no I'm gonna help... only to have the guy come up and push me away and the guy took a swing at me trying to hit me... so I get in my car, and call for help anyways just to be sure it was coming.

But it was the worst site I ever saw, blood everywhere... and this guy is down and I didn't know what to do to help. Was I wrong or being an ******* in this situation? did I do the right thing? I think I tried to help as much as possible, but again, I really did nothing. I feel so bad about the guy getting hurt and I am just waiting to see if the guy is alright on the news tonight or tommorow.

I hate to say ive split lanes on my bike before when there was mad traffic with 100

degree heat, but never as stupid as this kid. Was he wearing any gear? Half the people that ride sportbikes shouldn't have them.

and people say im wrong for saying "f*ck it" so much

im glad i can say f*ck it and it instantly dismisses anything i need. as if i was in your situation

im sittin in the car in traffic n sht, playin music moderately loud, but not blastin the sht crazy n blah blah all those events happen and i get out of the car and offer help and that shit happens to me

other than saying f*ck it and then beating the guys ***, i would just go back to the car and crank the sht up and wait for traffic to clear.

im happy with my ability to instantly drop anything and just say fck it and walk away, some people cant do that. i can because i have no feelings //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Wtf? I would have gotten back in my car and started blasting.

But i also feel extremely guilty blasting my music in traffic.. But someone saying something like that to me would just make me do it...

regardless, if someone takes a swing at me for no reason, they are gonna get it back with twice the power. remember, the guy didn't know shit. it takes 2x as much energy to swing and miss than it does to swing and connect. what he did was useless and only degraded the situation. parable of the good samaratin comes to mind..

Although you probably were blasting your music prior to the accident (that seems the only logical explanation to why some random person would mention that), he has no right to do something so incredibly stupid like swing at you while you're trying to help someone. Glad you kept your cool and it was right of you to leave cuz staying would have just caused more problems. Wouldn't hold it against you if you sucker punched the douchenozzle though.

anyways, what did they guy look like?

That's one thing you people don't get is that according to the mass population, car audio, or more specifically, music that can be heard from a distance (no, not more than 50 feet, more like 10 feet) where the source is located in a motor vehicle, is a negative. Simple as that.

Complain all you want that "it wasn't that loud", that "I wasn't trying to disturb anybody", or that "I was playing dam/n good music", it's just a fact of life. Live with it or say "f*ck car audio".

A lot of things make you look bad even when that thing doesn't relate to a scenario in question. For example, in the movie Crash, the black woman didn't want to be pulled from the burning car by the same police officer who sexually harassed her.

first, u shuda knocked him the fck out!.....second...what are u bumpin that that guy was soo pissed in a time of dire need....it musta been pretty loud that he rememberd to call u out in a time of panic and shit.....u must be runnin sumthin serious...but yea next time just pop him in the face a few times, and he'll beg you to turn up your stereo insteadd.

shit, lots of replies.. I just got back from downtown... I tried to check out the closest hospital to the scene and I just asked about a motorbike accident and if the patient was brought to the hospital I was at... but they said they can't release that information. but to answer questions and concerns, I'll just do it all in one big post to save time...

Sounds like you left part of the story out. Why would some guy say somthing about your stereo in a time like that? How did you approach the scene of the accident. There are holes in your story.
that's the thing, There was no approach to the scene, The crash was so close to me, I just drove about 4 feet forward and off to the side and as I was pulling off, I turned my music down... I thought that would be the best time to turn it down because it was immediatly after and I was still the 5th or 6th person out of my car so only a few seconds behind the others... it would only be a matter of seconds where they were at the scene before me and maybe heard my music

personally... i wouldnt feel bad for the guy on the bike either. if he was driving like an a$$ like that, he kind of deserved it.
no man.. if you saw this, you would be scared. I honestly thought the guy died within minutes of crashing. It was horrible.. I've never even came close to witnessing death before.

Was he wearing any gear? Half the people that ride sportbikes shouldn't have them.
well, he had the helmet... that looked like all he had on... I dont know what other gear bikers wear tho.

Tell me how much sense that makes.
it makes sense because there were no people around to annoy...The other cars which I understand now I guess is something to be aware of, never thought my system was too bad... I usually only avoid loud music around people in houses, people walkin on the streets...Saved my system for the highway... And I do not have that loud of a system but now realize I still was wrong. I'm just the kinda guy, I bump my music on highways all the time. BTW, There were probably even louder cars there too.

But i also feel extremely guilty blasting my music in traffic.. But someone saying something like that to me would just make me do it...
I do feel bad about it now..I figured it's a highway so who cares? I guess I was wrong there.

Yes I was bumpin hard (or as hard as I usually do) before the accident... when I saw the accident, my music went right down and I pulled off to help.

I only saw blood all over the guy, cracked helmet, bloody and wet jeans and he had a jacket on... not much help there I guess...

I was just listening to some rap... maybe my Slim Thug CD? I dont even remember that much about details. It was not loud.. my system does not have the capability to get loud like most others who post here. I think he was a few cars ahead of me and heard it... maybe even just the 1 car ahead of me and that's how he knew it was me with the loud music... still don't think he should have been that mad at me... but it's the past now... I'm only concerned about the biker and hope he is okay...

I would hate to say this, but when I was down in nyc, even though I like my stereo really loud in bumper to bumper traffic is not the best time to beat out in my opinion. There was a few times I had some kids beatn out next to me and after waiting in 2-3 hr bumper to bumper traffic, I was ready to get out and rip the stereo from there cars.

shit, sorry.. it wasn't in NYC (my location by my name just says that because Im from there)... I am living in Canada now... I bet if this was NY, someone woulda pulled a gun on me for bumpin in the traffic.

See...the problem with the guy telling you to leave his personal bias. I don't know you or how old you are but you could be a paramedic, physician, nurse or some other person in the medical field qualified to aid the victim. If he perhaps was more seriously injured because of the one fellow's bias, it could open him up to serious lawsuits on behalf of the diabled motorcyclist (when recovered) because his (the swinging fellow) action obstructed him from recieving aid, which I am sure is a crime.
