Hail to the King Baby!!!!
I can't decide what to do.

I get a whole turbo kit, with install, all parts labor etc... for 3k.

Thats the new fuel management, obd1 conversion, tuning, injectors, wastegate, downpipe, intercooler, bov, and so on.

It would add around 80 hp and 80 tq.

Good deal?

And how would it affect reliability of the car? Engine is d16y8

Or I can upgrade the whole audio system, deaden the whole car, do all that.

personally 3k for 80hp(crank) isnt worth it in my eyes.

plus when you sell the car, you'll have a hard time recoverin the investment on just the turbo install.

The car stereo will be removeable and can be put in your new car.

Trust me, I dumped $15k into a fuel/turbo upgrade for my supra.... but I still have my stereo!

nitrous would be a better option. Unless you are trying to add on beyond the basic turbo kit for drag reacing or something. Doesnt seem like you want to do this cause you intend to add alot of weight ie. amps and woofers so any kind of power you add to the engine will be offset by the weight. Why not start with a factory turbo car, add stereo, then build off of the stock turbo system?

Well maybe a little more than that. But it will go from around 100hp to around 200hp.
To answer your question in the first post: Yes, a wastegate will certainly diminish the reliability of any car.

So why install a wastegate?

Are you turning your car into a fast and the furious rice racer?

Do you have the desire to rack up as many reckless driving and speeding tickets in a one year period?

If you are into the whole street racing thing? If so, good luck and don't wreck your car, or even worse, get hurt or die.

Sorry if this sounds like a rant, but there have been a few recent deaths from people street racing around my town. Stupid... they could have gone to the local track and paid $20 to beat the shit out of their cars.

My vote still goes towards an audio system.

Actually no.

I just want a little more power under the hood. Its not like its a fast car, and won't even be really fast if i get a turbo.

Nice first post CookieMonster:*******:

And the wastegate is what the guy says is inlcuded in his packages.
