Sat in an impala with 12 12"s yesterday...

All I can say is wow...a 96 impala (old cop cars). Decent looks...had a custom metallic purple paint job to it, with some 22s, and pretty common things as far as looks goes.

My friend had told me that his neighbor had some "loud as ****" system. So I thought to myself ehh probably some guy with two L7s or some thing similar to that (since its common around here). The guy pulls up in his wife's benz and starts talking to my friend and my friend tells him "i think my boy over there (me) can take you out (messing around)" and the guy goes on taking it seriously asks me what I have...so I go on to tell him four 15" L7s...he then asked me to hear it but I told him that im building my box and waiting for my amps. I ask him to hear his system and he goes on to tell me "buddy this is the loudest shit you will ever hear" and i laugh, even though he's serious. He goes on to go back home and gets his impala...turns up the bass from around the block and im thinking right away ok its pretty loud...

By the time he pulls up the whole neighborhood was outside to hear it. He goes on to ask "who wants to sit in it?" and everybody starts laughing and saying nah yeah right chill so I volanteer and jump in the passanger seat...i take a look around a notice the wall he has with 12 12" memphis mojos and memphis amps (not sure which one, not the biggest one though). He plays it and im just there thinking "god dammn this shits ****ing loud"! He goes on bragging about how nobody has beaten him (at the moment im hoping the L7s can compare). I asked him how much he hit when he got it metered he told me 155.4 (on the AC). I had hit 150.6 (with two L7s). I ask him what kind of alternator he has and this was his answer "***** I got some big ****in alternator that shits ****ing huge (im thinkin 300amps or some thing)" and i ask him what size "like 180amps I have two 180amp alts" so im like oh ok...

Then he left and everybody starts talking shit how he's gonna make me look stupid at the next show and all this crap...

Anyways

How do you guys think four 15" L7s in a ported box tunned to 35hz (6" aeroports) and two D5000s (orion 2500s) would compare to 12 12"s in a sealed wall? Is there even any competition there?

Forgot to add...he asked me which amps are going to be powering the L7s...I tell him two orion 2500ds (since nobody knows wtf HCCA is here) he says "ahh wtf Orion that sucks you should have gotten memphis or hifonics" and I just laughed...

Some thing a typical guy that walks into a store loaded with money and doesn't know shit would say.

The guy didnt know shit!! Didn't know where his voltage usually stayed at while @ idle..what size alts he had, how many cubic ft each sub had, if it was each sub had its own chamber...basically he didnt know shit except that he has a loud system.
I also found it funny when he asked "what store is doing all your shit" and I answered him with "myself" he was like wtf. I bet that guy paid well over $2,000 in just labor.

from what ive experienced, sealed box's dont put up that big of numbers, even with that many subs... prolly around a 150 though if he hit 154 on the ac

It's people like this that I wish I had a Meade around the corner to come shut him up or I had some thing louder than him (since I dont go bragging about my stuff like him)...Were going to have to see how my setup does though I know its going to be very close.

Rebuild that box properly and show him up with 1/3 the number of subs.

With that much power and cone area, you should be able to beat his score.
