SAT > me

Never took the SAT. Took the ACT and got a 26. Apparently it was good enough to get me into two very good engineering programs (Marquette and Valparaiso), though I didn't stick with engineering. I didn't study, didn't read any study manuals, or do anything basically, and did ok. I made an attempt to go to one of the ACT study sessions, but there was a school dance the night before and I got pretty drunk and ended up not going. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Your ACT/SAT scores don't really reflect your performance in college. For example, my first roommate freshman year was an honor student who got a 1400+ on the old SAT. He dropped out after his freshman year because all he did was drink and smoke weed all day.

Got an 1180 when I took the SAT's in 1999. I didn't care about school back then. Did no prep whatsoever. I did fine in college.

But the standardized testing fun continues. I took the GMAT in October. I scored the exact same in math and english. I think 37 on both. Well for english I was in the high 80-something percentile and for math I was in the low 50 percentile if even that. This is what happens when you have a bunch of Chinese and Indian engineers who want to be portfolio managers. Overall I was in the 75th percentile with a score of 620. Nothing spectacular, but not bad.

I don't think these standardized tests really reflect anything. I never took any of them because I decided early on that I'd go through the transfer program. Just got my acceptance to UCD and UCSD and suddenly not taking the SAT or ACT tests didn't seem like such a bad idea.
