OK, I want to use Torx or safety screws to screw everything in my set up in so that no bootleg thieves can easily take my stuff out. in my neighborhood I doubt anyone has extended knowledge about hot wiring cars so I'm just worried about people ripping stuff out..

would Robertson (square screwdriver) also be a logical replacement? because I cant seem to find safety screws or Torx screws in home depot.

Anyone know where to buy Torx? thanks.

yea I'm gonna get some L brackets or something and put a nice shiny Masterlock on that mother that way anyone who peeks in sees a nice little lock.. maybe even two of em.

most dumb kids will see the locks and just give up

you use robertson or torx?

aha ill give you my address you can send me a pair!

I've gotta pioneer - it's decently heavy but I'm sure flush mounting it wouldnt detract many people..

but it will of course look good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Robertson

A buddy of mine had his box bolted in, and had t-nuts with allen-head bolts holding the subs in. It would be very time consuming to unscrew.

The thieves used the same hammer they used to break the glass to break the box apart so they could steal the subs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

if they want something, they are going to take it regardless of what you do to try to secure them.

naw not true.. for instance theres a few people in my neighborhood who seemingly enjoy breaking car windows for no reason. if the kids knew i had a system theyd probably love to get there hands on it but some people lack the capacity to even do things like break wood, etc.

i definitely believe security screws are a good step.

naw, absolutely true. Your example of people committing acts of random vandalism for no other reason than to simply be vandals doesn't apply. If someone wants something in your car bad enough they will find a way to get it outside of your car. Period. End of story.

Yes, there are steps you can take to make it as difficult or as time-consuming as possible (every thief's worst enemy is something that it takes them a long time to steal) but with enough determination they will get anything and everything they want out of your ride if the situation works out for them to have ample opportunity to do so.
