Safe to use bass boost on amp at the moment?

Hi, just recently finished the install on my 98 Ford Contour with Two 12 inch Type R's with a Planet Audio BB1400.1 and was wondering if it would be safe to turn up the bass boost option on my amp at all? It is currently on 0 and I feel like I am not getting the full potential of these subs.

My electrical is a Yellowtop Optima battery group d35 48ah under the hood and the Big 3 in Cadence 0 gauge. Also either 110amp or 130amp stock alternator.

The amp is currently tuned to put out about 36V at 40/50 volume. So pushing about 1400watts to the pair.

If you need anymore info let me know, thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

what your volume is at has little to do with what power the subs are seeing.

I would ask you to answer these questions:

How are your subs wired (to what final load)

What is the minimum load your amp will carry, or what is the rated output and at what ohm.

What is your electrical like? Wiring

How did you set your gains?

What are your crossover points

What are the specs of your box?

Subs are wired down to 1 ohm

Amp puts out 1400 volts at 1 ohm, 1900 max

Set my gains with a dmm

Electrical is stated above, amp power and ground is 4ga wire though.

Crossover points... no clue, SSF is 25 and LPF is around 80

Box is prefab but tuned to around 36hz i believe, not positive though

At 14.4v... Do you hold 14.4v the whole time? I would not trust that amp to give a clean signal pushing it that close to "rated".

Cant use the scope because the amp is plug and play. Can only set it up by ear. Will I hurt the speakers by playing a 1000hz tone at 75% volume...
