I had my Orion 400.2 installed by Circuit City and the dumbasses mounted it on my SUB box?! Anyways, now my sub has a snapped tinsel lead and while its getting repaired I took the box out.. So i had to unmount my Orion400.2 that is on my SLCs..The length of the power/ground wire only allows me to mount the amp upside down... I was going to make sure it was safe before I remounted it in another area..

THanks

i've *always* heard it's not so good to mount amps upside down. never really been pointed out as to why or had any personal experiance though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

The only problem with mounting amps upside down is that the board is secured to the bottom with the heatsinks are above. And dont forget heat rises so when you mount it upside down you cut down a lot of the amps designed cooling ability. And the only thing wrong with mounting an amp on the box is if you want to take the box out. Especially if your stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire and cant get to your spare cause you dont have tools to disconnect the amp.
